Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM
*Primarily day shift , Monday–Friday with flexible hours based on cleaning needs and production schedules. May include early mornings, or weekends.

Job Description
Honey Green is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our facility operations team. The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across multiple workspaces, including cannabis manufacturing and office areas. This role plays an essential part in supporting a hygienic workplace that meets regulatory, safety, and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, thorough, and adaptable to both routine and project-based cleaning assignments while working independently or with a team.


Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Perform daily janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting floors and surfaces in designated areas.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, office spaces, and high-touch surfaces.
  • Empty trash and recycling receptacles and properly dispose of waste.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in facility entranceways, hallways, production floors, and rest areas.
  • Replenish bathroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Clean interior windows, walls, doors, and fixtures.
  • Follow sanitation protocols specific to cannabis production areas, including PPE usage.
  • Respond to cleaning requests, spills, or hazards promptly and professionally.
  • Report facility maintenance needs (e.g., leaks, lights out, equipment malfunctions) to the Maintenance Lead.
  • Assist with deep cleaning or special projects as directed.
     
Compliance Responsibilities
  • Follow Honey Green’s safety and sanitation standards in alignment with OSHA, health department, and cannabis regulatory protocols.
  • Handle and store cleaning chemicals properly using Safety Data Sheets (SDS) guidelines.
  • Wear appropriate PPE and follow internal hygiene procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records as needed for cleaning logs or sanitation protocols.
     
Physical Requirements
  • Manual Dexterity and Hand Strength
    Ability to handle cleaning equipment, sweep, scrub, and lift items with strength and precision.
  • Standing, Sitting, and Mobility
    Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb ladders or stairs for extended periods throughout the day.
  • Lifting and Carrying
    Regular ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies, trash, and materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive Motions
    Frequent use of arms, hands, and back for wiping, lifting, scrubbing, and repetitive cleaning movements.
  • Pace and Attention to Detail
    Ability to clean thoroughly while maintaining a consistent pace and meeting sanitation standards.
  • Visual and Quality Inspection
    Able to visually inspect cleanliness levels and identify areas needing corrective cleaning or maintenance.

     
Working Conditions
  • Hybrid Cultivation Environment
    Work occurs in warehouse, manufacturing, and office environments including cannabis production spaces.
  • Sanitation and Cleanliness
    Strict sanitation practices are enforced to ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Noise and Equipment
    Exposure to background noise from cleaning machines, facility systems, or other operations.
  • Odor Exposure
    Exposure to cannabis odors and cleaning agents is regular within this environment.
  • Team-Oriented and Fast-Paced
    Must work efficiently with facility teams while balancing routine and priority cleaning needs.
  • Compliance-Driven Operations
    Role is subject to strict cleanliness, safety, and security standards as required in regulated cannabis environments.
  • Ergonomic Considerations
    Use of ergonomic equipment (e.g., mop systems, carts) and proper lifting techniques is required.

     
Qualifications
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Prior custodial or janitorial experience required; experience in a manufacturing or regulated environment preferred.
  • Understanding of basic cleaning techniques and supply usage.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete checklists accurately.
  • Comfortable using cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers (riding/walking) , vacuums, ladders, and carts.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends or holidays as needed.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Missouri Agent Card.
