Outdoor Cultivation Support (Evening)

Joplin, MO - Full Time

EVENING SHIFT: MON- FRI, 1:00PM to 10:00PM

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Outdoor Cultivation Support team member to assist our cultivation managers in the daily operations of our outdoor cannabis grow facility. This role is essential in ensuring the health and quality of our plants while maintaining a clean and organized cultivation environment. The Outdoor Cultivation Support team member will work closely with cultivation leads and managers to execute daily tasks efficiently and in compliance with company policies and regulations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities 

  • Assist with planting, transplanting, and harvesting cannabis plants under the guidance of the Cultivation Manager and Leads. 

  • Support irrigation and fertigation tasks, including watering, mixing nutrients, and checking system functionality. 

  • Monitor plant health by identifying pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies, reporting any concerns to the appropriate team members. 

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as trellising, pruning, and defoliation to support plant growth and maximize yield. 

  • Help maintain proper environmental conditions by monitoring weather conditions and adjusting shade cloths, fans, or other outdoor cultivation tools as needed. 

  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of cultivation areas, including disposal of plant waste and proper sanitation of tools and equipment. 

  • Assist with post-harvest processing, including drying, trimming, and curing of cannabis plants. 

  • Follow all company standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain compliance with state and local regulations. 

  • Work collaboratively with the cultivation team to achieve production goals and ensure high-quality plant care. 

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to report progress, challenges, and improvement suggestions. 

Compliance Responsibilities 

  • Adhere to all state cannabis cultivation regulations. 

  • Follow proper documentation and tracking procedures for plant movement and waste disposal. 

Physical Requirements 

  • Outdoor Work Conditions  
    • Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including high heat, humidity, rain, and wind. 
    • Exposure to dirt, dust, pollen, and potential allergens. 
  • Standing/Sitting for Long Periods  

    • Ability to stand, walk, crouch, and kneel for extended periods. 
    • Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching to care for plants. 
  • Lifting Requirements  

    • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. (e.g., soil bags, irrigation equipment, harvested plants). 
    • Occasional heavy lifting with team assistance. 
  • Repetitive Motions  

    • Frequent use of hands, wrists, and arms for cultivation tasks such as pruning, trellising, and transplanting. 
    • Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting while handling plants and materials. 
  • Fine Motor Skills  

    • Precision required when handling delicate plants, applying nutrients, or using cultivation tools. 
  • Pace and Performance Expectations  

    • Ability to maintain a steady work pace while meeting quality and efficiency standards. 
    • Capacity to focus on repetitive tasks with attention to detail. 

Working Conditions 

  • Outdoor Agricultural Setting  

    • Work takes place in an outdoor field or greenhouse environment. 
    • Exposure to various seasonal conditions, including heat, cold, and inclement weather. 

  • Physical Labor  

    • This role requires frequent physical activity, including lifting, bending, and kneeling. 
  • Exposure to Strong Odors  

    • Frequent exposure to the odor of cannabis plants and fertilizers. 
  • Fast-Paced, Team-Oriented Environment  

    • Cultivation tasks often involve close collaboration with other team members to meet production targets. 
    • Ability to stay on task and coordinate with others under tight deadlines is essential. 

Qualifications 

  • 21 years of age or older. 
  • Prior experience in cannabis industry, preferred but not required. 
  • Previous experience in cannabis cultivation or a related field is beneficial but not required; we welcome individuals with a passion for plant care and a willingness to learn.  
  • Basic understanding of plant biology, cultivation techniques, and pest management practices is desirable.  
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors and more experienced team members.  
  • Attention to detail and commitment to adhering to standard operating procedures to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.  
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues towards common goals.  
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support cultivation operations.  
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Missouri Agent Card.
