Business Operations Analyst
The Business Operations Analyst serves as a strategic analytics partner to Manufacturing leadership, responsible for transforming operational data into actionable insights that drive efficiency, scalability, and data driven decision making across Honey Green’s cultivation and manufacturing operations.
Reporting directly to the VP of Manufacturing, this role owns the development, integrity, and continuous improvement of operational reporting and analytics. The Business Operations Analyst exercises independent judgment on matters of operational significance, partners cross functionally to optimize workflows and systems, and delivers timely, accurate analysis to executive leadership within a highly regulated operating environment.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis, Reporting & Insights
- Own the collection, validation, organization, and analysis of large datasets from ERP systems and related operational data sources.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve dashboards and recurring reports tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), including cultivation yields, manufacturing throughput, labor efficiency, inventory accuracy, cost structures, margins, and sales performance.
- Establish and enforce reporting standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data across departments.
- Translate complex quantitative analysis into clear, actionable insights to support executive-level and operational decision making.
- Identify performance trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement with measurable business impact.
- Evaluate existing operational workflows, procedures, and reporting processes to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
- Recommend data driven changes to manufacturing and operational processes and support implementation in partnership with department leadership.
- Assist in standardizing metrics, benchmarks, and performance measurement methodologies across cultivation, manufacturing, and related operational teams.
- Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) initiatives through demand forecasting, capacity planning, and material requirements planning using historical data and trend analysis.
- Build and maintain analytical models to support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning.
- Provide analytical support for ad hoc projects, business cases, and strategic initiatives led by executive and departmental leadership.
- Support evaluation of new products, process changes, and market expansions through data driven analysis.
- Act as a liaison between cultivation, manufacturing, sales, IT, compliance, and finance teams to gather requirements and align data solutions with business objectives.
- Partner with IT and system owners to evaluate ERP configuration, data structures, and reporting workflows to improve system utilization and data flow.
- Identify gaps in ERP or reporting capabilities and recommend enhancements to improve operational visibility, production oversight, and inventory controls.
- Support system implementations, process standardization initiatives, and new product or market launches.
- Support internal controls related to production reporting, inventory accuracy, cost accounting, and operational metrics.
- Assist in maintaining data readiness for internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and operational assessments.
- Participate in audits or reviews related to inventory integrity, reporting accuracy, and operational controls, as required.
- Office Based Work
- Ability to sit and work at a computer workstation for extended periods while performing analytical, reporting, and documentation tasks.

- Primary work is performed in an office setting within a regulated cannabis cultivation and manufacturing facility.
- Periodic movement between buildings or departments across the property is required for collaboration, observation, and operational alignment.
- Outdoor Movement Between On Site Locations
- Travel between on-site facilities may require brief outdoor movement across facility grounds, with exposure to seasonal weather conditions.
- Regulatory, Security & Controlled Access Environment
- Entry into restricted or secured areas requires adherence to established security protocols, access controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Work may occur in proximity to cannabis plant material, production equipment, and other regulated or controlled substances, without direct handling responsibilities.

- Standard business hours, with occasional extended hours to support audits, system implementations, or critical reporting and regulatory deadlines.

- Regular interaction with Operations, Manufacturing, Compliance, Security, Facilities, IT, Finance, and department leadership.
- Ability to coordinate effectively across teams while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and strict confidentiality of operational and business data.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, operations, analytics, supply chain, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated experience in business operations analysis, manufacturing analytics, or operational planning in a regulated or production-driven environment preferred.
- Strong proficiency with cannabis specific ERP, seed-to-sale, and inventory management platforms (e.g., Hashio, Distru, Canix, Rootstock, or similar systems), including working familiarity with state seed-to-sale system data dependencies. Ability to leverage these systems to support production oversight, inventory controls, operational reporting, and audit readiness within a regulated cannabis environment.
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, and scenario analysis.
- Experience developing dashboards and visualizations using Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Working knowledge of SQL and/or Python is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory management, cost drivers, and supply chain fundamentals.
- Knowledge of the cannabis lifecycle including cultivation, extraction, manufacturing, and distribution is highly beneficial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment on matters of operational significance.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence outcomes without direct authority.
- High attention to detail with a strategic, solutions-oriented mindset.
